Switching to Sky Mobile is easy, just choose the data plan most suited to you and complete your order within minutes. If you are currently a Billpay customer all you need is your account number with your existing provider. This isn’t required if you are a Prepay customer.
With Sky Mobile, our unlimited plans have no fair usage limits in the Republic of Ireland, so you can use data to your hearts content. Plus, when you travel to the EU & UK (Roam Like Home) for work and holidays you don’t need to worry about extra data charges. With our unlimited plan we don’t impose any limit, when you Roam Like Home, so you can use your data as you would at home.

Yes, you can add a phone to your current Sky Mobile account without a plan. If you are new to Sky Mobile, you will need to add a plan to your basket when you purchase your phone online.
All phone sales on credit-sale agreements are subject to credit checks. This means that before approving your application to take a phone out on contract, we will do some checks. This may change the amount you pay upfront for the phone.
Please note, that any increased amount you pay for the phone upfront, will correspondingly reduce your monthly phone payments.
You can Roam Like Home, using your Sky Mobile SIM at no extra cost in over 40 countries across the EU, EEA, and the UK. You'll use your data allowance as if you’re ‘at home’.
While roaming in the EU, EEA, or UK, you will have unlimited calls and texts, to ‘phone home’.
Outside of these countries, there may be a charge, please check out the Mobile Tariff Guide for more information on out of bundle charges.

If you are having issues with using your phone whilst abroad, here are some simple tips for getting connected while roaming:
Turn your device off and on again.
- Make sure 'Airplane mode' is turned off.
- Check if your device has the latest software installed.
- Make sure you haven't reached your roaming spend cap.

On your billing date, we will automatically roll any data you haven’t used into your Sky Piggybank. If you have an unlimited plan, we’ll put 5GB into your Piggybank every month. You can store as much data as you want and keep it for up to 3 years. Check how much you have saved on the My Sky App or at sky.com/piggybank
When you’ve saved over a gigabyte of data, you can choose to:
- Top up your own sim card when you need data in the future.
- Share it with others on your account when they need data.
- Exchange data in your Piggybank for money off a new phone.
- Or exchange it for all kinds of rewards.

If your phone isn’t from Sky Mobile, you might need to unlock it.
- To unlock your phone, make a note of your mobile number, the make and model of your phone, and dial *#06# to get your IMEI number.
- Then call your current provider to give them these details.
- Once your phone is unlocked, and before you put your SIM in, go to sky.com/sim to activate it.
