You can download anything in the On Demand catalogue, but you can only watch content for which you already have a subscription.
Entertainment programmes in HD will require a Sky Entertainment Extra+ subscription, and to watch Sky Movies on demand you’ll need the Movies Pack (Sky Movies 1 & 2), and to watch Sky Sports on demand you'll need the Sports Pack (Sky Sports 1 & 2).
Plus, all On Demand customers can rent movies at the touch of a button in the new Sky Store. Once you have unlocked the service, you can see what's on by pressing 'TV Guide' on your Sky remote followed by the red button.
When you download a programme, in most cases you can start watching within minutes. However, the download speed of your chosen programme will depend on your line speed. If your line speed is below 2Mbps, you might find your programme downloads faster if you download outside of peak hours.
Sky Store is the new place to rent movies - no need to leave the house and no late fees. It’s open to all Sky TV customers with a compatible Sky box , just scroll across to the Sky Store tab and browse through hundreds of movies, including some of the latest releases out on DVD and a huge library of favourites. Prices start from just 99p. Once you’ve chosen the movie you want to rent, simply enter your pin (if you have one) and start your download . Sky+HD 2TB box: £49 for existing Sky TV customers taking their first HD package or existing Sky+HD customers adding Sky Multiroom (£10.25pm per box). Existing Sky+HD customers are entitled to one £149 box, additional 2TB boxes £249. £249 for any existing customer who received a discounted 1TB box. New customers joining Sky TV with Sky Entertainment Extra+ are entitled to one £149 box. Any additional 2TB boxes thereafter or when taking without Sky Entertainment Extra+ are £249. Sky HD Multiroom box: Sky HD Multiroom box is the SkyHD standard Digibox (No PVR functionality) which along with a Sky TV and Sky Multiroom subscription (£10.25 extra a month) gives your Sky TV subscription in another room. First box free for new and existing customers when taken with a new Sky Multiroom subscription and paying for set-up. Limited to one free box per household (and not available to customers who have already received a free standard box) otherwise £49. Replacement boxes are £99.
