What is HD?
Your favourite TV in high definition, with up to five times more picture detail, amazing colours and superb quality digital sound.
What TV channels do I get in HD?
The HD channels you receive depend on your Sky TV subscription. For example, to enjoy Sky Sports in HD, you’ll need Sky Sports and the HD Pack and to enjoy Sky Movies in HD, you’ll need Sky Movies and the HD Pack.
Is Sky 3D available with Sky+HD?
If you have a Sky+HD box with the HD Pack, Sky Entertainment Extra, Sky Sports Pack and Sky Movies Pack (Sky World HD) and a 3D ready TV, you'll be able to enjoy some of the best sports, movies and entertainment in incredible 3D with Sky 3D at no extra cost.

How many channels can I watch in high definition?
The HD Pack offers the widest range of HD channels in the UK - you can watch up to 60 HD channels depending on your Sky TV package. For example, if you have the standard definition Sky Sports, Sky Movies or Disney Cinemagic channel in your package you will receive the high definition version of that channel if available in the HD Pack.

How do I know if my TV is HD ready?
Look for the 'HD ready' logo on your television, or check your TV's instructions for the HD ready logo in its specifications.

Will I get HD after the Digital Switchover?
The Digital Switchover is the process of switching the traditional analogue TV signal over to a digital TV signal and won't automatically give you high definition TV. Sky customers already benefit from digital TV and are all set for the digital switchover. To experience TV in high definition you must have an HD ready TV and an HD source, like a Sky+HD box.

Can I watch HD in more than one room?
Yes. With Sky Multiroom and the HD Pack you can watch HD channels from your Sky TV subscription in any room with an HD Ready box. One HD Pack covers the whole home. If you take a new Sky Mulitroom subscription (£10.25 extra a month), you will receive a free Sky HD Multiroom box.

Sky boxes and set-up
Box set-up times currently average 7-10 days for new customers and may be longer for existing customers upgrading to Sky+HD (excludes Highlands & Islands, Channel Islands, Scottish Islands, Isle of Man, Northern Ireland, ROI).
Standard set-up of Sky+HD box with the HD Pack is free when you join Sky TV online (otherwise £30); free for existing customers with a new Multiroom subscription (otherwise £60 or £15 for Sky+ customers selecting self set-up).
Existing Sky TV customer: Sky Broadband set-up fees for existing Sky TV customers £60 for Everyday Lite, £30 for Connect or free for Unlimited. £30 set-up fee for Connect for customers without Sky TV.
Self set-up: Available to Sky+ customers for £15. Self set-up must be completed within 31 days of receipt.
Sky Anytime+ set-up: Free wired standard set-up for new Sky+HD customers (not available with self set-up) or £40 (£60 wireless). Can be set up by customer using own cable.
Sky+HD box: Existing Sky+ box households are not eligible for a discounted box unless taking the HD Pack. Existing customers must agree to new 12 month minimum term for Sky TV. One free/discounted box per household. Sky+HD box up to £199 if you are not eligible for discounted price (Sky TV subscription required). A Sky+HD box can store an average of 60 hours of HD or 185 hours of standard definition programmes. HD ready TV required.Sky+ box: Existing Sky+ box households are not eligible for a discounted box. Existing customers must agree to new 12 month minimum term for Sky TV. One free/discounted box per household. Sky+ box up to £199 if you are not eligible for discounted price (Sky TV subscription required). You will receive a Sky+HD box which has all the features of Sky+ and can store an average of 185 hours of standard definition programmes. To view free-to-air HD content you need an HD ready TV. To view Sky HD content you will also need the HD Pack (£10.25 a month).
Sky+HD 1TB box: £99 for Sky TV customers taking their first HD package (£10.25pm) or existing Sky+HD customers adding Sky Multiroom (£10.25pm per box). Existing Sky+HD customers are entitled to one £149 box, additional boxes £249. New customers are entitled to one £149 box when taking with HD pack, any additional boxes thereafter or when taking without the HD Pack are £249. Standard set-up £30 for new customers and £60 for existing Sky TV customers. Non-standard set-up may cost extra.
Sky HD Multiroom Box: Sky HD Multiroom Box is the SkyHD standard Digibox (No PVR functionality) which along with a Sky TV and Sky Multiroom subscription (£10.25 extra a month) gives your Sky TV subscription in another room. First box free for new and existing customers when taken with a new Sky Multiroom subscription and paying for set-up. Limited to one free box per household (and not available to customers who have already received a free standard box) otherwise £49. Replacement boxes are £99.
You do not have to subscribe to Sky TV - available directly from Sky call centre (standard set up £120) - limited to one per household.
