House of the Dragon: Season 4 Guide
It all comes down to this. House of the Dragon is coming to an end, and only one can assert their position on the Iron Throne as King or Queen of the Seven Kingdoms.
Over the course of the series, many lives have been lost in the name of Team Black or Team Green – the two factions of the divided Targaryen family led by the two siblings who both believe they have a righteous claim to the throne.
But will it be Queen Rhaenyra or King Aegon II that will emerge victorious? And will the price they have to pay be worth it?
With more blood set to be shed before the story’s over, here’s everything we know so far about what lies ahead for the fourth and final season of House of the Dragon.
When will House of the Dragon Season 4 be released?
House of the Dragon season 4 is currently set for release in 2028.
At the time of writing (August 2026) filming is yet to commence on the upcoming season, so an official release date is yet to be confirmed.
But we will let you know as soon as we know more.
How many episodes of House of the Dragon Season 4 will there be?
House of the Dragon season 4 is expected to run for a total of eight episodes.
This will bring the entire series to a close.

Throughout the course of House of the Dragon, several characters have been loved and lost, with war guaranteeing not everyone will make it out of the show alive.
