BBC iPlayer in Sky Catch Up screen -- Strictly Come Dancing
BBC iPlayer arrives on
Catch Up TV

30 October 2012

Sky+ just got even better. We’ve recently updated the Sky Guide on most Sky+HD boxes so that you can get some great new features, including BBC iPlayer, the BBC’s video on demand service, on our Catch Up TV service.

From today, you can enjoy the best of the BBC’s TV shows from the last seven days in the comfort of your living room if you've got a Sky+HD box that's been updated with the new Sky Guide.

So this autumn, whether you’re out for fireworks or getting on with your seasonal shopping, there are more ways than ever to be sure you never miss the TV you just can’t do without, like Strictly Come Dancing, Dr Who, Eastenders and much more.

Look for BBC iPlayer in the Catch Up section of the On Demand menu, where it joins catch up services from ITV Player, Demand 5, Sky TV and Sky Sports. What’s more, it includes a number of features that’ll make it easy for you to find the BBC programmes you want.

For instance, you’ll notice that all the shows are arranged in categories, so it’s simple for you to find what you’re looking for by channel, day and genre. You’ll also find regional and signed programmes in dedicated categories. It’s easy to find shows in HD, too.

Then, just choose what you’d like to watch and it’ll be downloaded to your Sky+HD box for you to enjoy when you like. And it’s all available at no extra monthly cost to your subscription.

Our update includes the DRX780 model, so if you have this box, you can now access the new Catch Up service as well as enhanced Sky+ app features. If you’re not sure whether your Sky+HD box has been updated or what model you have, you can find out from Help and Support. But please be aware that Catch Up is not currently available in the Republic of Ireland.

Don’t worry if you have a Samsung or Pace Sky+ box. We’re planning to update those by the end of November, once we’ve finished final testing.

And be sure to connect your Sky+HD box to your router with either an Ethernet cable or Wireless Connector and activate On Demand to start enjoying shows from BBC iPlayer and much more on your TV.
