How easy is it to Switch my number to Sky Mobile?

Switching to Sky Mobile is easy, just choose the data plan most suited to you and complete your order within minutes. If you are currently a Billpay customer all you need is your account number with your existing provider.  This isn’t required if you are a Prepay customer.

Is your unlimited data truly unlimited?

With Sky Mobile, our unlimited plans have no fair usage limits in the Republic of Ireland, so you can use data to your heart's content. Plus, when you travel to the EU & UK (Roam Like Home) for work and holidays you don’t need to worry about extra data charges. With our unlimited plan we don’t impose any limit, when you Roam Like Home, so you can use your data as you would at home.

I’ve received my physical SIM card, what do I do now?

When will my SIM and phone be delivered?

We use DPD to deliver all our phones & An Post to deliver our Sky Mobile SIM cards.  Once you order before 1pm Monday to Thursday, you can expect to receive your order the next working day. If you order a SIM or phone from Friday to Sunday, it may take longer.

I want to order a second Sky data plan

You can have up to 7 SIMs on a Sky Mobile account. Once you have completed your initial order, you will be able to add another SIM from Sky Mobile in your account online or in the MySky app.

Can I buy a phone without a plan with Sky Mobile?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can add a phone to your current Sky Mobile account without a plan. If you are new to Sky Mobile, you will need to add a plan to your basket when you purchase your phone online.

What does subject to credit checks mean?

Accepted Answer

All phone sales on credit-sale agreements are subject to credit checks. This means that before approving your application to take a phone out on contract, we will do some checks. This may change the amount you pay upfront for the phone.

Please note, that any increased amount you pay for the phone upfront, will correspondingly reduce your monthly phone payments.

How do I use my phone abroad?

You can Roam Like Home, using your Sky Mobile SIM at no extra cost in over 40 countries across the EU, EEA, and the UK. You'll use your data allowance as if you’re ‘at home’.

While roaming in the EU, EEA, or UK, you will have unlimited calls and texts, to ‘phone home’.

Outside of these countries, there may be a charge, please check out the Mobile Tariff Guide for more information on out of bundle charges.

Go to sky.com/skymobileroaming for a list of ‘Roam Like Home’ countries.

You can also set a spend cap limit, so there’s no surprises for when you get home.

Turn your device off and on again.

Make sure 'Airplane mode' is turned off.

How do I unlock my phone?

If your phone isn’t from Sky Mobile, you might need to unlock it. 1. To unlock your phone, make a note of your mobile number, the make and model of your phone, and dial *#06# to get your IMEI number. 2. Then call your current provider to give them these details.
3. Once your phone is unlocked, and before you put your SIM in, go to [sky.com/sim][1] to activate it.

Sky Mobile will be adding more amazing mobile phones for you to browse and purchase in the coming weeks and months.

If you can wait for a little longer for your new phone and want fairer pricing and the ability to Swap to a new phone 12 months before your contract ends, then check back in with us shortly.
