Managing devices

Sky Broadband Buddy let's you manage devices both at home or on the go.

Manage devices at home

Manage any phone, tablet, laptop, games console and smart TV connected to your Sky Broadband Hub. They'll be set to Unmanaged when first discovered by your hub, but just add it to a Profile to start managing:

  1. Open the Profile.
  2. Tap Add Device. Or, if you've already added a device, select Devices then Add Mobile device.

Manage devices on the go

Download the app on as many devices as you need - there's no limit.

  1. Download Sky Broadband Buddy on the phone or tablet you want to manage out of the home.
  2. Open the app and select Set up kid app.
  3. Follow the on-screen steps until you see a QR code.

Then on your phone or tablet:

  1. Open the profile you want to add the device to.
  2. Select Add Device. Or, Devices then Add mobile device.
  3. Scan the QR code.
  4. Tap Continue, Install VPN then Activate.
  5. Then on the device to be managed, read the on-screen message then press OK.

Don't manage these devices

Smart home devices such as thermostats, smart appliances and Sky Q boxes will be discovered by Sky Broadband Buddy To keep these running smoothly, never assign these to a profile.

Remember: You should never manage or monitor internet access for a device without permission.

To stop managing devices

In the parent app, remove the devices from the Profile:

  1. Open the Profile.
  2. Tap Devices then select the device name.
  3. Tap Remove Device.

Uninstall Sky Broadband Buddy from the device:

On an Android phone or tablet:

  1. Search Sky Broadband Buddy in Play store
  2. Tap Sky Broadband Buddy, Uninstall then Ok.

On an Apple phone or tablet:

  1. Hold the Sky Broadband Buddy app icon until all apps start to shake.
  2. Tap X then Delete.
