Your Sky TV PIN

Your Sky TV PIN is a four digit code which lets you access Sky Store Movies, interactive services and pay-per-view Sky Box Office events. To make these purchases, your PIN is linked to your billing information, so it's important to keep it confidential. 

Your Sky TV PIN also lets you access age restricted content and set up parental controls to restrict the programmes and channels that the kids can watch on your TV. Your PIN can be used to disable these measures, so keep it secure at home.

Please note:  Your Sky box must be connected to the internet to change or reset your TV PIN.  To set this up follow the steps in our Connect your box guide.

I've forgotten my TV PIN / I want to change or reset my TV PIN

Please note: If you have Sky Multiscreen, with Sky boxes in more than one room, you'll have a different Sky TV PIN for each box.  Once you’ve reset your PIN, it usually takes just a few minutes to update, but can occasionally take a few hours.

Using your Sky remote

You’ll need your PIN to watch certain programme or confirm a Sky Store or Sky Box Office purchase. If you’ve forgotten your PIN, you can follow the prompt to reset it by pressing red on your Sky remote. For further help on resetting your PIN, see our help video or follow the instructions below.

  1. Press interactive on your Sky remote, scroll down to Reset your PIN, then press select.
  2. Enter one of the following:
    - The last four digits of your credit card number.
    - The last four digits of the bank account number you use to pay for Sky.
    - The last four digits of your Sky account number.  This can be found on your latest Sky bill.
  3. Enter a new four-digit PIN and press select.
  4. Re-enter your new PIN to confirm and press select.
  5. You'll now see a screen confirming that your PIN has been updated.

Depending on your Sky+ software version, you may also be able to change your PIN by pressing the yellow  button on your Sky remote when you're on any live TV channel. Read more on Sky Community.

Online in your Manage account

  1. Sign in to Manage using your Sky iD and go to the TV PIN page.
  2. Your nine-digit viewing card number will be displayed onscreen. If you’ve got Sky Multiscreen, you’ll need to select the viewing card/TV PIN you’d like to change from a drop down menu of your active viewing card numbers.
  3. Enter a new four digit PIN in the New PIN field.
  4. Re-type your new PIN in the Confirm new PIN field and select Confirm pin.

When choosing your new Sky TV PIN, we suggest you avoid using your date of birth or any combination that might be easy to guess. You’re responsible for keeping your PIN secure and confidential.

In the My Sky app

  1. Open the My Sky app and, if you haven’t already, sign in using your Sky iD details. If you’re new to the app, visit our My Sky app page to find out more.
  2. Select Manage account > TV > TV settings.
  3. Select Update next to TV PIN and follow the on screen instructions.
I've never known my TV PIN / I've never changed my TV PIN

If you're new to Sky or don’t remember changing your PIN, your TV PIN number is the last four digits of your Sky viewing card number which you can find via your Sky remote or Manage account.

Using your Sky remote

  1. Press services on your Sky remote.
  2. Use the left/right arrows to highlight Settings, then press select.
  3. Scroll to System Details using the left/right arrows to see your nine-digit viewing card number.
  4. The last four digits of your viewing card are your TV PIN.

Online in your Manage account

  1. Go to the TV PIN page and sign in using your Sky iD, if you’re not signed in already.
  2. Your nine-digit viewing card number will be displayed onscreen.If you’ve got Sky Multiscreen, you’ll see a drop down menu displaying all active viewing card numbers.
  3. The last four digits of your viewing card are your TV PIN.
I've blocked my TV PIN

If you enter the wrong TV PIN three times your account will be blocked. You’ll be allowed three more attempts after ten minutes.

If it’s urgent, reset your Sky box and follow the ‘I’ve forgotten my TV PIN / I want to change or reset my TV PIN’ instructions above.

How to reset your Sky+ box:

Simply turn off your Sky box and unplug it from the wall socket for at least 60 seconds. Then plug it back in at the mains and switch the box back on.

Sky TV PIN and age certificates

When watching a programme or movie, your Sky box will always ask for your PIN:

  • If it has an age rating of 18 and it’s before 9pm.
  • If it has an age rating of 12 or 15 and it’s before 8pm.
  • If it has an age rating of U or PG and a PIN has been set up for this rating.
