Viewing Sky TV

Watch Sky in 3D

To watch Sky 3D you'll need:

  • A Sky+HD box connected to your broadband network.
  • Sky Cinema with the HD Pack or the Box Sets Bundle.*
  • A 3D-ready TV.
  • 3D glasses.
  • Make sure you've activated Sky 3D - sign into Sky 3D activation and select Activate Sky 3D.
What you can watch in 3D depends on your TV bundle. So if it doesn't include Sky Cinema or Sky Sports, you can’t view Sports or Movies within the on demand 3D collection.

* Please note that the Box Sets Bundle is not available to customers in the Republic of Ireland.

How to watch Sky 3D

Please follow the relevant instructions for the make of your TV:

  • How to get the best 3D experience

    • Make sure there are no obstructions or infrared devices close to your TV’s 3D sync transmitter. The transmitter may also not work if in direct sunlight or if exposed to fluorescent lighting (50/60Hz).
    • Sit between 1 and 6 metres from your TV, and don't sit at an angle. The optimum viewing distance is three times the height of your TV. So for a 46" TV, the optimum viewing distance is about six feet.
    • Sitting head-on to the TV gives the best 3D display. Avoid placing your 3D TV high up on a wall, unless you can tilt the TV down to face you.

Don't forget

When you change to a non-3D channel, turn off your TV's 3D mode and take off your 3D glasses.
