If you want to PIN-protect viewing on the Sky Q app, you can do so using the Sky TV PIN and Sky Device PIN.
Please note: For security reasons, we recommend changing your PIN to something personal that you can keep secure. You can change your PIN in Settings on the Sky Q box, or online at My Sky.
Here's how they work:
- Sky TV PIN
Your Sky TV PIN is used to set parental controls, make purchases and rentals, and view PIN-protected shows on your Sky Q box or your device at home, as well as viewing downloaded recordings on your device.
Shows rated 12, 15 or 18 viewed before the watershed on the Sky Q app will always ask for the Sky TV PIN. In addition, adult channels aren't available on the app.
You can PIN-protect rated shows at all times on the Sky Q app, set this up on the Sky Q box in the Parental section. Remember to keep your PIN confidential, as it can also be used to access parental controls and paid content on your TV.
If you need to reset your Sky TV PIN, you'll need to sign in to My Sky with your Sky iD.
- Sky Device PIN
You can set up the Sky Device PIN to restrict viewing of on demand shows on the Sky Q app, and restrict live TV and on demand shows when you're away from home.
To do this, go online and sign in using your Sky iD, then follow the on screen instructions.
If you need to reset your Sky Device PIN, you'll need to sign in to My Sky with your Sky iD.
