Picture problems on recordings

If you're having picture problems when viewing your recordings, here are some things you can try to fix the issue.

  • Initial checks

    If your problem is with a specific recording try watching at least two more recordings. If possible, choose recordings from a different day and channel.

    If the problem is occurring on only one or two recordings it's likely the issue is with the original broadcast. Please delete the affected recordings. If the show is available on demand, try downloading it again.

    If the problem is occurring on all recordings, or you're still having problems, continue to the next step.

  • Restart your Sky Q box

    Switching your Sky Q box off and then back on again at the power socket can fix the problem.

    1. Switch your Sky Q box off at the mains.
    2. Check that both ends of all cables are securely connected.
    3. Switch your Sky Q box back on at the mains.
    4. Wait for the onscreen instructions to disappear then press Home on your Sky Q remote.
