  • How do I download and install Sky Go Download Player on my PC?

Sky Go Download Player is available for Windows computers, but can only be used on one computer at a time.

To install the Sky Go Download Player:

    1. Sign in to the Sky Go website, using your Sky iD.
    2. Select Downloads from the menu bar.
    3. Select Install Sky Go Download Player.

During setup you may be prompted to install a free browser "plug-in" called Microsoft Silverlight, which is required for Sky Go Download Player to work.  Please note: Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge web browsers no longer support the Microsoft Silverlight plug-in so you'll need to use a different web browser instead, for example, Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox.

    4.   Open the Sky Go Download Player icon (check in your Downloads folder if you're not sure where it is).

    5.   Sign in using your Sky iD.

Sky Go Download Player will now check for any download requests you make from the Sky Go website, and those programmes will then be downloaded to your computer or laptop. You can then start watching those programmes at a convenient time, usually up to a month after you download them.

  • Broadband/data usage when downloading programmes

All programmes downloaded through Sky Go Download Player and Sky Go Player will contribute towards any usage caps imposed by your broadband provider. The same applies for any such downloading done over 3G or 4G mobile networks (for example, when using mobile broadband on your laptop).

For a broadband service with no usage caps, we recommend Sky Broadband Unlimited for our UK customers.

For a broadband service with no usage caps, we recommend Sky Broadband Unlimited for our Republic of Ireland customers.
