If you want to make any changes to your Sky Yahoo Mail account, including forwarding emails, adding signatures or sending emails from another account; go to your Settings by:

1. Sign in to Sky Yahoo Mail.

2. Hover over the gear icon in the upper right corner of the window and select Settings.

From the Settings menu you can amend your settings on the following options:

  • Forward mail to another account

Your incoming mail can be delivered to your Sky Yahoo Mail account, another email account, or both.

    Enabling auto-forwarding

To automatically forward incoming mail to an alternative address:

    1. Select Accounts from the left hand side of the Settings menu.

    2. Select your Sky Yahoo Mail account.

    3. Scroll down to Access your Sky Yahoo Mail elsewhere.

    4. Unselect Forward by selecting POP.

    5. Enter the email address you want to forward your mail to and click Verify Address. An email will be sent to this email address, which you’ll need to read and click the verify link to prove that this account belongs to you.

    6. Once your account has been verified, select a forwarding option from the drop-down menu:

Forward only automatically forwards incoming messages to the selected email address. Copies of the forwarded messages aren’t saved in your Sky Yahoo Mail account .

Store and forward automatically delivers incoming messages to both your Sky Yahoo Mail Inbox (or other folders if you have filters set up) and the forwarding email address you selected.

Store and forward and mark as read automatically delivers incoming messages to both your Sky Yahoo Mail Inbox (or other folders if you have filters set up) and the forwarding email address you selected. In both cases, the mail is automatically marked as read.

From these three options, we recommend Store and forward.

    7. Click Save.

    Disabling auto-forwarding

To turn off auto-forwarding in your Sky Yahoo Mail account:

    1. Select Accounts from the left hand side of the Settings menu.

Download spam with no special indicators downloads spam to your email client, and the spam will appear as a regular email.

Download spam but prefix with “Bulk” downloads spam to your email client, but the email will be identified as spam and will appear with the word “Bulk”.

From these three options, we recommend Don’t download spam.

    6. Click Save.

  • Send emails from another account

If you want another one of your email addresses to appear in the From: field of your outgoing emails, instead of your Sky Yahoo Mail address:

    1. Select Writing email from the left hand side of the Settings menu.

    2. In the Add send-only address box, type in the email address you wish to send from.

  • Change your reply-to email address

You can make your reply-to address different from your sending address for your outgoing emails. For example, you can send emails from yourname@sky.com and have their replies delivered to yourname@anotherdomain.com.

Your email address is your sending address and can't be changed or hidden. Your recipients see this address when they receive your message. The Reply-to address can be changed. Your recipients see this address when they reply to your messages, and this is where their replies are sent.

You first need to register this new reply-to email address a Send only account. To do this, complete the steps outlined in Send emails from another account above. Once you’ve done this:

    1. Select Accounts from the left hand side of the Settings menu.

    2. Select Your Sky Yahoo Mail account.

    3. Click the drop-down arrow on the Reply-to address box and select the email address you want your outgoing messages replied to.

    4. Click Save.

  • Add a signature to your emails

    5. Once you are done, click Save.

If at any point you don’t want to include your signature in a specific email, just delete the signature text from a message as you write it.

  • Set up an out of office reply

Sky Yahoo Mail’s out of office reply lets people know you won’t be able to get back to them right away. Each person who sends you an email will receive an out of office response, no matter how many times they email you. To set this up:

    1. Select Holiday Response from the left hand side of the Settings menu.

    2. Place a check in the box Enable during these dates (inclusive).

    3. Select the start and end dates for when you’ll be away.

    4. Enter your holiday response in the text box that you would like to send on email replies.

    5. Click Send Sample Copy To Me if you wish to see a sample of your out of office reply.

    6. If you want to send a different out of office reply to people with a specific email domain, such as @yahoo.com, @school.edu etc, check the box next to Different response to emails from a specific domain and enter up to two domain names. You can then type a different out of office reply in the text box below.

    7. Once you are done, click Save.

If you would like to turn off the holiday response early, go back to the Holiday Response menu and uncheck the box next to Enable during these dates (inclusive).

  • Using filters in your inbox

Sky Yahoo Mail’s filters allow you to manage incoming messages. To add a filter:

    1. Select Filters from the left hand side of the Settings menu.

    2. Click Add.

    3. Enter the information about your filter.

Filter Name: Type a unique name for the new filter.

If an incoming message meets all of these conditions: Specify at least one characteristic of the messages you want to filter. For example, if you want to filter all messages from your sister, under From, select Contains and enter your sister's email address. Or you may want to filter specific keywords in either the subject field or the body of an email.

Then move the message to this folder: Click the drop down arrow and choose the name of the folder where you want the message to go.

    4. Click Save.

Another way to create a filter is to right-click an email in your inbox and select Filter emails like this… For example, if you would like to filter messages from a particular contact, right click on a message they’ve sent. Then enter the filter information as described in step three above.

If you create more than one filter, pay attention to the order you create them. For example, if you created filter one to place messages from your colleagues into the folder “Company Picnic” and then created filter two to place messages from your colleagues into the folder “Work”, Sky Yahoo Mail will place these messages into “Company Picnic” as that is an older filter.

To edit or delete a filter, select Filters from the left hand side of the Settings menu, choose the filter and then click Edit or Remove.
