British comedy with Ralph Richardson and Margaret Leighton. A romantic novelist finds one of her plots coming true.
A sort of comic Lady Chatterley's Chauffeur, with Carlo Justini as a servant who gets romantic ideas above his station. Filmed by Muriel Box, Britain's foremost woman director in the Fifties, and based on a screenplay written with her husband Sydney, it bursts into Eastman Colour at the halfway mark for a dramatisation of the leading woman's book. Ralph Richardson delivers more than the script can reasonably expect.
