Vintage British comedy starring Arthur Lucan and Kitty McShane. Irish washerwoman Mother Riley is mistaken for a spy.
Probably the funniest of all the Mother Riley comedies, this set up the long-running series, after a rather moderate opener, 'Old Mother Riley', had appeared the previous year. Arthur Lucan's Mother Riley gets mistaken for a spy in pre-war France, parachutes from a plane and (best of all) takes an involuntary part in a wild Apache dance. Made in the days when Lucan's real-life wife Kitty McShane still looked young enough to play his daughter.
