Insightful documentary chronicling the troubled production of the 1963 triumph Cleopatra. Archive footage is used to illustrate how badly Hollywood was faring with an over-reliance on epics. For Cleopatra a galaxy of stars - including Audrey Hepburn, Joan Collins and Sophia Loren - were considered before Elizabeth Taylor got the role. The doc follows the film's misfortunes on set in England and how Taylor and co-star Richard Burton became an item.
