Atlantic Holds The Key To Flood Fears
Tuesday has been a very wet day with some intense rain through the evening, and flood warnings gradually increasing throughout the day.
Flood fears will be temporarily alleviated by the prospect of a dry night tonight.
That should then be followed by a rainless day on Wednesday.
However, all eyes will be trained on the Atlantic, as further weather systems head across towards the south coast for Thursday and Friday.
Friday, especially, will be very wet.
It all contributes to a high chance of further disruption from flooding by the end of the week.
The heavy downpours are in-keeping with a wet month in general.
Rain at this time of the year is certainly not unusual. The trouble is the wettest days have all come in one week.
150% of the average January rainfall has fallen since the turn of the year - and we're only halfway through the month.
The good news is next week is due to be drier.
