Sky News and Reach for the Sky - helping students discover the exciting world of journalism
Sky Television will shortly be launching Year Three of a news initiative aimed at young people aged 15 to 21.
The nation-wide campaign focuses on Sky News and builds on the success of the initial project which, in the last two years has afforded thousands of UK students the chance to gain an insight into the exciting world of news journalism.
Year Three of the initiative will further develop projects launched in 2000, such as Reach for the Sky Live - a series of six, two-day nationwide events with a strong journalism element to be held around the country this summer for 15-16 year olds. It will also include new projects like Reach for the Sky on Tour - a roadshow for 16-17 year olds, launching in March, that will also include a journalism zone. And for undergraduates, this year, Sky News and Reach for the Sky join forces with The Guardian as sponsors of its prestigious Student Reporter of the Year Award category of The Guardian Student Media Awards 2002.
