Model Cindy Crawford has backtracked on her protest against wearing fur by promoting the coats in an advert.
Crawford was the figurehead of the anti fur-coat protest "I'd rather go naked than wear fur".
Cindy Crawford is now promoting fur coats
But 10 years on, she has donned the coats in an advert for mink coat giant Blackglama - picking one up as a reward.
The move has angered animal rights groups.
But the mother-of-two follows in the footsteps of Bette Davis, Marlene Dietrich, Lauren Bacall, Rita Hayworth and Gisele Bundchen by working for the company.
She also follows one-time anti-fur protester Naomi Campbell in becoming a turncoat.
The pair had been spokeswomen for the animal rights group PETA during the 1990s.
A PETA insider was quoted by the Daily Mail as saying: "We cannot believe Cindy has changed her views about fur so radically in the space of 10 years.
"The fur industry is just as barbaric as it was back then, but she sees nothing wrong with advertising it."
