Britney Spears is rumoured to be planning a Kabbalah ceremony for her wedding.

It would be the first celebrity marriage carried out under the faith, and has left her devout Baptist parents horrified.

Britney: Kabbalah crazy

Friends of Britney have revealed she has reserved a weekend this autumn for her marriage to boyfriend Kevin Federline.

Her parents are desperate to get their daughter to change her mind about the choice of ceremony.

An insider told the Daily Mail: "There's some resistance from her family.

"But maybe there's a way to incorporate elements from both faiths and make everyone happy."

Britney's on-stage kissing buddy Madonna was one of the first celebs to unveil her interest in Kabbalah.

Madge's husband Guy Ritchie is another follower as is Hollywood actress Demi Moore.

The Kabbalah Centre defines a Kabbalistic wedding as "much like an orthodox Jewish wedding with conscience".

It goes on: "While many of the customs seem to be Jewish, the Kabbalistic wedding ceremony is an understanding, wisdom and connections that essentially sew the two soul-halves together, creating one new, whole soul."

The Kabbalah religion focuses on spirituality and aims to solve puzzles and problems and questions where we came from.

Earlier this year it was reported that Madonna would no longer play Friday night gigs because her Kabbalah faith forbids it.
