The glittering creation by designer Scott Henshall is the most expensive dress yet made.
In tribute to the movie, he wove thousands of diamonds into the dress which was spun into a spider's web design.
Mumba, 21, also wore a giant diamond ring in the shape of a spider which covered the whole of her right hand.
Asked what it was like to wear the dress, the Dublin-born star replied: "It's really comfortable actually."
The singer was flanked by a security guard as she walked down the red carpet of the Odeon cinema in London's Leicester Square.
The Spider-Man sequel opens in the UK on Friday. It has already broken box office records in the US and movie experts predict it will do the same here.
Tobey Maguire returns as the reluctant super hero and Kirsten Dunst is back as Spidey's love interest Mary Jane Watson.
Maguire, 29, said he was overwhelmed by the reaction of the Leicester Square crowd.
"It's amazing that so many people have turned out for this premiere," he said.
"The film is pretty great and I'm really proud of it. I think everybody who liked the first one will love this one."
Dunst, 22, wore a white one-shouldered dress by Chanel. "I don't mind about making the front pages. I just want to wear something beautiful and dress how I want," she said.
