Farrell has been filming the epic in Malta and other overseas locales under the direction of famous film-maker Oliver Stone.
American actress Angelina Jolie plays Farrell's mother in the movie - with the help of a little make-up - and Jared Leto plays his side-kick Hephaistion.
Elliott Cowan also appears as one of Farrell's top generals, Ptolemy.
Australian director Baz Luhrmann is also currently making a movie about the Macedonian king, starring Leonardo Di Caprio and Nicole Kidman.
Farrell's blockbuster is expected in the cinemas in November next year.
