Britney Spears is set to show off her raunchy rear in hot pants - in a movie remake of 1970s TV hit The Dukes of Hazzard.

Britney will squeeze into the tiny denim shorts, and plenty of other skimpy outfits, when she plays Daisy Duke in the car chase caper.

New role for Britney

The part was originally made famous by curvy Catherine Bach.

Hordes of male viewers were delighted every week as Catherine slid through the window of the Duke boys' famous orange Dodge Charger, the General Lee.

Now Britney will reprise that character and get them drooling all over again.

She was specially picked for the racy role by Ashton Kutcher, who will play Luke Duke in the movie.

He became pals with Britney after she appeared on his MTV show Punk'd.

Paul Walker, star of 2 Fast 2 Furious, will play Bo Duke.

Tom Wopat and John Schneider starred as the good 'ol boys in the original series.

The two cousins raced around Hazzard County in the US deep south as they battled corrupt local governor Boss Hogg.

Britney's debut movie Crossroads bombed at the box office.
