The second police officer to win the £1m prize on reality TV show Survivor is meeting his bosses next week to discuss whether he can return to work.

Jonny Gibb

Detective Constable Jonny Gibb, 31, became the unanimous victor of the second series. All six jury members and a telephone vote from the public chose the policeman over fellow finalist Susannah Moffat.

The CID officer from Edinburgh followed in the footsteps of last year's winner Charlotte Hobrough, a police constable from Wales. She was labelled "Charlotte the Harlot" after a fling with another contestant.

Hobrough gave up her job on the force when she won and is now a TV presenter, co-hosting the ITV2 version of this year's show Survivor: Raw but Gibb said he hoped to return to his job with Lothian and Borders Police.

Coke and prostitutes

However, he admitted the publicity and his new-found riches might make it hard for him to settle back into his old life.

"A lot of colleagues will be really happy for me, but I'm sure there will be a few who are jealous. That happens if someone gets a promotion, never mind wins a lot of money."

Jonny had joked on the show that the first thing he would do on winning the money would be to have three grams of coke on the dashboard of a new Aston Martin and two prostitutes.

Surfing

But he later dismissed the remarks as a joke and said he would spend the cash on "a nice car, a few weeks surfing in Australia and a new stereo".

He said he had not been carpeted by his bosses for the comment. "Once they saw it, it was clear it was tongue in cheek and a joke. I apologise if anyone was offended, but it was just my sense of humour."

Defeated finalist Susannah, 28, an English and drama teacher from London, left empty-handed. She admitted on the show that she came across as an "arty farty teacher with a posh accent".
