Ali G left chat show veteran Michael Parkinson lost for words when he gave him a bag of 'cannabis' for his 67th birthday.

The spoof rapper hands him the fake bag of drugs during Parkinson's chat show being screened on Sunday night.

The birthday gift is supposed to be a bribe for Parkinson to go on a date with Ali G's grandmother.

He tells the host: "Me gotta be honest, me only came on here as a favour to me Nan.

"She fancies you, she wants you bad Parkinson. She told me she wanna go on a date with you."

But Parkinson quickly recovers his cool and laughs as Ali G hands him the "bag of weed".

Other guests on the show are comedian Sanjeev Bhaskar and singer Michael Ball.
