Jean Charles de Menezes, the man shot by police as he boarded a London train, will be buried in Brazil today.
At the time he was suspected to have terrorist links - but Scotland Yard has since admitted they were wrong.
Jean Charles de Menezes
The 27-year-old was shot dead by plain-clothed officers at Stockwell Tube station last Friday.
He had been followed from a block of flats in Tulse Hill, south London, which had been under surveillance.
Independent investigators are now appealing for witnesses to the shooting.
Members of Mr de Menezes's extended family have called for the banning of the shoot-to-kill policy for suicide bombers.
It emerged on Thursday that his student visa expired more than two years before the shooting.
A cautiously-worded statement from the Home Office also appeared to indicate Mr de Menezes had a forged stamp in his passport.
:: The head of the Roman Catholic Church in England and Wales will take part in a mass today for Mr de Menezes.
Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor, the Archbishop of Westminster, will read a message at the end of the requiem mass at Westminster Cathedral.
