Four 'Bombers Held'

All four would-be London bombers are thought to be in custody after dramatic arrests in London and Rome.

Arrested man (in white) led away

British police confirmed that Hussain Osman was arrested in Italy's capital city.

He is thought to be the man who attempted to blow up at train at Shepherd's Bush on July 21, and will now be brought back to London for questioning.

The Rome arrest followed a series of raids in London, in which two other suspects were taken into custody.

Police said one of the men held in London has identified himself as Muktar Said Ibrahim - the man suspected of attempting to blow up the number 26 bus in Shoreditch.

The other man had identified himself as "Ramsi Mohammed", Detective Assistant Commissioner Peter Clarke, head of the anti-terrorist branch, said.

These two men were arrested during a dramatic raid on the Peabody Estate in west London.

One eyewitness told Sky News that the men were inside a flat when police surrounded it, shouting at them to take their clothes off and get out.

The men failed to comply and tear gas was fired into the property. The two men then emerged onto the balcony naked with their hands in the air.

Special forces moving in

A number of explosions had earlier been heard at the scene, possibly the sound of police entering the property.

Another arrest took place in Tavistock Crescent in the Notting Hill area.

Police suspect this man of being a possible fifth suicide bomber.

A fifth device in a rucksack had already been found dumped on open ground at nearby Little Wormwood Scrubs.

The raids were connected to the failed bombing attempt on July 21 - exactly two weeks after 56 people were killed in bombs on London's transport network.

One of the suspected bombers, Yassin Hassan Omar, 24, is already in custody after being arrested in Birmingham earlier this week.

:: Two women were also arrested in a seperate incident at Liverpool Street station in London.

The women were arrested during an armed police operation and are being held in custody.
