Johnny Knoxville has taken a lie detector test to prove he hasn't had an affair with Jessica Simpson. The married actor wanted to put an end to rumours that the Dukes of Hazzard co-stars, both of whom are married, were secretly lovers.

Jackass star Johnny was hooked up to the machine on Howard Stern's American radio show and the device indicated he was being truthful in saying he had not had sex with Simpson.

Knoxville added that he wouldn't cheat on his wife Melanie, saying: "My wife knows I'm a flirt. But I know she has a frying pan."
