Jen Confirms Marriage Over

Despite separating nearly three months ago, hopes were high Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt would solve their differences.

But they appear to be dashed after Friends star Jen finally filed for divorce from the hunky actor.

A petition filed at Los Angeles Superior Court seeks dissolution of the actors' marriage based on irreconcilable differences.

The Hollywood couple, who married in a lavish ceremony in Malibu in July 2000, have refused to speak publicly about their decision to split.

But talking to US TV show Access Hollywood about press coverage of their problems, she said: "There is always going to be the tough and the nasty. You just tune out to that."

Ironically, 36-year-old Aniston's new film is called The Breakup.

The couple, who are believed to have remained on friendly terms, will stay on as partners in production firm Plan B.

Plan B's first film, Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, is out later this year.
