Wonder WomanLynda Carter as Wonder WomanSo just who should be the next Wonder Woman?

It's the latest sought-after role in Tinseltown - but who would look good in those red boots and satin tights?

According to the original Wonder Woman, Lynda Carter, two early suggestions for the role are too old.

Both Sandra Bullock at 41 and Catherine Zeta-Jones at 35 are a little past it to play the sexy superhero, Lynda reckons.

She told reporters in LA: "People have talked about Sandra Bullock... she's too old and so is Catherine Zeta-Jones.

"You want someone that is really fresh."

And it seems she might get her way, with rumours that The OC's Mischa Barton, 19, Katie Holmes, 26, or Jessica Biel, 23, could all be in the frame for the role.

And British actress Kate Beckinsale has voiced her desire to play the part.

"I dressed up as her last Halloween so it would be good to do it again," she said.
