Celebrity babies are like buses.
You wait to report on them, carefully consulting the timetable... then two of them turn up at once.
So, while Angelina Jolie was getting busy in Namibia, Gwen Stefani pipped her to the post by producing a baby boy on Friday.
"Gwen's doing great! She looks amazing and she's doing real good," said rocker Gavin Rossdale, the tot's dad and Gwen's husband of four years.
Kingston James McGregor Rossdale was born by Caesarean section at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in LA, weighing seven and a half pounds.
Kingston's fashion-crazy mum reportedly turned up for the delivery "wearing her signature red lipstick and looking very excited".
Asked how it feels to be a new dad, Bush frontman Gav said: "It's great. I love it!"
Now we're waiting with bated breath to see what hot-off-the-catwalk baby gear the little fella will be kitted out in.
It's Gwen's first child and Gavin's second. He has a 16-year-old daughter with singer Pearl Lowe.
