If someone was to ask you what the best family movie of all time was... you'd probably opt for an old classic.
And that family favourite is more than likely to be one that tugs on the heart strings.
So, it's no surprise that ET the Extra-Terrestrial has been voted the greatest family flick of all time in Channel 4 poll.
Steven Spielberg's 1982 weepie trounced fellow old-timers, such as The Wizard Of Oz and The Sound Of Music.
Second place was snatched by animated comedy Shrek, followed by the Christmas favourite Mary Poppins.
Pirates Of The Caribbean came fourth before Toy Story, The Lion King and Back To The Future.
The original, non-Johnny Depp Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory took the eighth spot, with Star Wars (grouped together) in ninth and The Wizard Of Oz in tenth.
Other films in the top 20 included The Lord Of The Rings, Finding Nemo and Harry Potter.
