But the new big news is that Jessica Simpson might be making an appearance in the successful series.

But before you get too excited, go to the larder and measure out a healthy teaspoon of salt...

The bigwigs behind the show have previously stated that they aren't into getting A-list cameos.

Still, it makes a good image - Nicollette Sheridan (Edie in the show) and Jess both putting out their rubbish is skimpy hotpants and uber low-cut tops.

Jessica SimpsonMSN reports an insider as saying: "There's talk of her being on an episode or two."

And just to add a bit of spice to the speculation, newly single Jessica was recently spotted dining out with DH's Eva Longoria (Gabrielle in the show).

An eavesdropper overheard Jess saying to Eva: "Thanks for making me laugh. You know how much I need that right now."

So far, a rep for the show has denied that Jessica is being lined up. Damn.
