After an evening of amazing performances, some tears, and a small portion of cheese... Shayne Ward was named as this year's X Factor winner.
And fret not - the 21-year-old has vowed not to become another Steve Brookstein.
"What happened to Steve was unfortunate, but just because it happened to him, it doesn't mean it's going to happen to me," he told the Daily Mirror.
With every chance of being this Christmas' number one, Shayne is now the proud owner of a £1m recording contract and will keep Louis Walsh as his manager.
After the win, Louis gave Shayne £10,000 of jewellery and revealed: "Shayne has the potential to be Robbie Williams or Will Young. The sky's the limit."
As far as the former New Look shoe department employee is concerned, his victory is all about one person:
"The reason I'm doing all of this is for my mum. She deserves the best. She brought up seven kids. She can relax now and not stress out every Saturday anymore."
He went on to tell the Daily Mirror that he'll be buying her a new house.
Runner-up Andy Abraham was very gracious in defeat and said of Shayne: "He is a worthy winner. He is a star. He deserves to be number one."
Journey South were the first of the three final acts to be dumped by the public in an evening that saw more than 10.9million votes being cast.
