Colin JacksonColin JacksonStrictly Come Dancing star Colin Jackson may have to bow out of the show after injuring his foot.

The former Olympic hurdler - tipped to win the BBC1 contest - lost his balance while practising the samba, according to The Sun.

He fell hard on his right foot and was rushed to hospital in agony with a suspected fracture.

Doctors found he had badly torn muscles and extensive bruising.

Colin is now reportedly recovering at home, hoping he will be fit in time for the show on Saturday.

A BBC insider said: "Colin was in excruciating agony and underwent X-rays.

"He was being brave but you could tell he was very worried.

"The doctors have said they don't know how long it will take for his foot to heal but he's desperate to continue in the contest."

Welshman Colin, 38, a silver medal winner in the Seoul Olympics in 1988, has become the hot favourite in the show after some impressive performances.

If he wins, he will be the first man to win the contest.

The insider added: "The other contestants might have a chance this weekend."
