Madonna Says Her Man Comes First

Madonna and GuyIt doesn't seem five minutes since Madonna was cavorting around in a conicle bra, telling the world that she was as strong - and powerful - as any man on the planet.

But clearly marriage and motherhood has mellowed her, as she now claims putting your fella first is the way to get on in life.

Madge has taken a more traditional outlook since getting hitched to Brit movie director Guy Ritchie.

And according to The Sun, she believes her first marriage to actor Sean Penn was doomed because they were both selfish.

"Until you get married, you get your own way," she is quoted as saying.

"Then you suddenly have to think of somebody else before you make decisions. That's putting your ego in check."

Madonna said she moved to London from Los Angeles to make sure her marriage to Guy worked.

"We had a long-distance relationship for a year. I thought, somebody has to compromise, which I did."

She was talking in New York at the launch of her fifth children's book Lotsa De Casha.
