Cowell Slags Off Beyonce

Simon Cowell has extended his cutting criticisms to beyond those poor wannabes who turn up and audition for Pop Idol.

Instead, he's taken a swipe at the hugely successful talent that is Beyonce - and has called Jessica Simpson a "dumb blonde".

Speaking to USA Weekend, he said: "Beyonce has made one very, very good pop record, Crazy In Love, but I went to see her in concert in Vegas, and I was bored out of my mind."

Not satisfied with this put down, the British millionaire went on to blast the Simpson sisters.

He revealed his disdain that Jessica became a star from her appearance on a reality TV show, "and then off the back of that her sister will get a reality show and become a star... It's not exactly plotting a career, is it?" he snarled.

He did admit that Jessica could sing, but went on to describe her as a "dumb blonde, a bit like Marilyn Monroe".

Strangely it wasn't all about his vicious tongue - he did admit that Christina Aguilera is an "unbelievable talent", adding that her tune Beautiful was one of his top pop songs.

He also went on to praise Katie Melua and described Joss Stone as "terrific".
