Broadband speeds to suit your needs

  • alt text

At Sky, we're always looking to improve the service we deliver to our broadband customers.

We understand there may be some customers who could benefit from having faster broadband speeds and may be interested in fibre optic broadband.

  • Sky Broadband Unlimited Fibre

We've introduced Sky Broadband Unlimited Fibre for people who live in a fibre network area. Sky Broadband Unlimited Fibre costs £20 a month for new and existing customers taking Sky Talk calls and Line Rental (from £12.25 a month).

You could benefit from having faster broadband speeds if you live in a busy household with lots of people using the internet through a number of different devices all at the same time. You may also benefit if you use the internet for 'heavy' online activities, such as HD streaming, certain types of high responsive games or downloading very large files. If your line can't currently support fast broadband, fibre optic broadband could also be a good choice.

If you'd like to be kept informed of fibre optic broadband developments from Sky and changes to our fibre network areas, please enter your details below.

    • FAQ
What broadband speeds do I need?

A broadband speed of 3Mbps (which is significantly less than half of the average speed offered by Sky Broadband), lets you download your favourite song in just fourteen seconds, download a photo in just four seconds, and to load a page from a website with images it takes less than a second. These times are estimated averages and are not a prediction of actual speed. Household speeds vary depending on factors including line quality and distance from the exchange.

      What about downloading HD shows?

If you're downloading multiple high definition (HD) video streams simultaneously, rather than through your Sky box, which uses satellite to broadcast HD, you may need a faster connection.
