Switching To Sky from Cable



Switching to Sky

Sky Broadband and Sky Talk are exclusively available to Sky TV customers.

If you currently get your TV, broadband or phone through cable, but don't have an active BT line, it's still easy to switch to Sky TV, Sky Broadband and Sky Talk. Check which Sky Broadband products are available in your area with our postcode checker and then follow the steps below.


1. Book Sky TV and Sky Talk today
We can arrange installation of a new Sky Talk phone line when you join Sky TV - go to Sky TV Packages to place your order (existing Sky TV customers please check our Frequently Asked Questions page for switching advice).

2. Cancel your cable TV
Once your Sky TV is installed and, if you have a cable TV contract, simply ask your provider to cancel your TV contract - there's usually a 30 day notice period.

3. Order Sky Broadband
Once your Sky Talk phone line is active, just give us a call or visit sky.com to place your Sky Broadband order.

4. Cancel your cable broadband and phone contract
To ensure that you have no interruption to your broadband and phone service we recommend that you take this step last. You may receive billing from both Sky and your cable company from the date your Sky Broadband goes live to the end of your cable notice period. You can download our cable cancellation letters to get you started. If you are with another cable company, please follow the same steps as above.

5. Once your Sky TV is installed you can also check the status of your orders through your Sky TV Box
You can check the status of your Broadband and Talk orders through your Sky TV Box – press the Interactive button, select Sky Active then My Sky Account and then Track My Order to see the real time status of your order. You can also check the status of your orders online through My Sky, and you will receive letters to advise you when your Sky Talk and Broadband will go live.
