Signing up for My Sky

As a Sky customer you can sign up for My Sky, the one-stop portal that lets you manage your account online and use great services like Remote Record.

You can even sign up for My Sky if you're not currently a Sky subscriber, and enjoy services like Sky Player, which lets you download hundreds of Sky movies, sports highlights and TV shows to your computer whenever you like.*

If you've forgotten your sign in details, visit My Sky and follow the Forgotten Password or Forgotten Username link and we'll sort it out for you.

*The price and availability of content depends on whether you are a Sky TV subscriber and the type of subscription you have.

How to sign up for My Sky

1. Go to www.sky.com/mysky.
2. Follow the Sign Up Now link.
3. Enter your personal details on the Create your Sky ID screen that appears.

  – Your username should only contain letters and numbers.
  – Your password should have at least seven characters and contain at least one letter and one number.
  – Your password should not contain your username or the word 'password.'

4. Type out the characters appearing in the Verification box.
5. Read through the terms and conditions and check the box marked 'I have read and agree to the sky.com terms and conditions.' Activate the Next button to continue.
6. If you are not a Sky subscriber or you don't have your payment/viewing card details to hand, go to step 9.
7. If you are a Sky subscriber, enter your date of birth and set up a secret question. You can use this to retrieve your sign in details if you forget them.

  – If you live in the United Kingdom you should enter your postcode, house name/number and the last six digits of your payment method or alternatively your viewing card number.
  – If you live in the Republic of Ireland you should enter your telephone number instead of your postcode, house name/number.

8. Submit your information.

We'll send a confirmation email to the address you gave us, detailing the My Sky services that are available to you.

Now that you have a My Sky account, you can have a free Sky Email account. Go to www.sky.com/email to get started.

9. If you don’t have your payment or viewing card details to hand, or if you are not a Sky customer, follow the I don’t have these details or Not a Sky customer links to sign up as a guest user.

  1. Does sky.com use cookies?
    To make My Sky work for you, we use cookies to manage information about your account. You should be aware that by using the site, information may be collected through the use of cookies. These are small text files that store basic information that a website can use to recognise repeat visits. For example, it allows the site to recall your name if it's been previously supplied, saving you time and hassle.

    This info is also used to monitor and improve the site and assess the effectiveness of our advertising. Cookies don't attach to your system or damage your files, but if you don't want information collected through the use of cookies, you can always tell your browser not to accept cookies. However, this may affect the service and "personalised" services may be affected. For example, you won't be able to use the site to access your Sky broadband e-mail account.

    To refuse cookies with Internet Explorer, select Tools from the browser menu, followed by Internet Options. Then select the Privacy tab and use the slider to set the level of privacy. Move it to the very top to block cookies from all websites. You can find more information in our Privacy Statement.
  2. What makes for a "secure password"?
    Your password must be a mixture of letters and numbers and can't contain any spaces. You should avoid using the same details as your username, consecutive numbers, obvious personal information such as children's or pet's names, or your date of birth. We advise you to change these details frequently and not use the same details when choosing a new password. Do not to write your password down, or send it by email and remember Sky will never ask you for your password by email.
