If you're trying to decide between using POP3 and using IMAP, we recommend you use IMAP with Sky Email. POP3 is prone to losing messages or downloading the same messages multiple times, but IMAP synchronises your mail clients and your web-based Sky Email more effectively. Actions you perform when you're using Sky Email on the web, actions you perform on email clients and mobile devices (for example putting mail in a 'work' folder) will instantly and automatically appear in Sky Email (for example it will already have a 'work' label on that email). IMAP is a better way of accessing your mail from more than one device, so if you check your email at work, on your mobile phone and again on your computer at home, IMAP ensures that new mail is accessible and offers a more stable, consistent experience.
1. Log into your Sky Email account.
2. Click Mail Settings at the top of any Sky Email page.
3. Click Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab in the orange Mail Settings box.
4. Depending on the protocol you have decided upon, select either Enable POP or Enable IMAP.
5. Click Save Changes.
