How to get Sky
Choose what you want to watch - With so many channels available on Sky, it could be confusing trying to find the type of programme you’re looking for. That’s why we’ve divided our channels into six Entertainment Packs, with each Pack dedicated to a different type of TV:

When you subscribe to Sky TV, you need to take at least one Entertainment Pack, but after that it’s up to you to take as many as you like – all six Packs means you won’t miss out on a thing.
Once you’ve got the basics sorted, it’s time to decide whether you want to treat yourself to some Premium Packs with Sky Sports and Sky Movies.
There are four channels of unmissable sports action when you take Sky Sports Pack. Watch exclusive live Barclay’s Premier League football, as well the pick of the action from cricket, rugby, golf and more.
Sky Movies Pack is a must-have for any film fan. With over 850 films showing every month across 12 dedicated genre channels, plus 5 films premiering each week, you’re sure to find something to match your mood.
Choose your equipment - You’re going to need some equipment to get access to the channels you subscribe to, and Sky has a range of boxes that are sure to meet your needs.
New subscribers to Sky are offered a free Standard Sky box. It comes with an on-screen programme guide, parental controls and programme reminders.
Then there’s our award-winning Sky+ box that lets you pause and rewind live TV, and record up to 40 hours of shows.
Or why not take it to the limit with the ultimate viewing experience – high definition. The Sky+HD box (and a Sky+HD subscription) gives you access to the widest selection of HD programming in Europe – and that’s all with Sky+ functionality.
Don’t be constrained to having the TV you love in one room only. A Sky Multiroom subscription and a Sky box in another room will give you access to the same selection of channels. - Will I have to have one of those big white dishes on the side of my house?
Don't worry. The Sky TV minidish is just 60cm across and matt black.
- What if I change my mind about Sky TV?
You can change your subscription either before your viewing commences or after the first month. However, this must be in accordance with the terms of your subscription contract. If you change your mind, just get in touch with Sky Customer Services - our contact details are here.
- What is the digital switchover?
The Government has announced that the analogue TV signal which is received through a terrestrial aerial will be switched off by 2012. Switchover will take place between 2008 and 2012 on a region by region basis.
After the switchover, it will only be possible to watch TV with digital equipment - digital satellite, digital terrestrial, digital cable, or a broadband/DSL telephone line. Every TV in your house will need to be individually digitally enabled if you want to carry on using them to watch TV.

Movies - With over 850 different titles a month, we offer the most comprehensive film service available on TV. See the biggest blockbusters first with five Sky Movies Premieres a week, a year before other channels (excluding Pay Per View).
