On 7th and 8th July 2009 a small percentage of Sky Mail customers may have experienced longer than expected page load times when trying to sign into their webmail accounts using an Internet Explorer web browser. The Sky Mail team quickly identified the problem and all customers should now be able to access their webmail accounts as normal.
However, if you are still encountering problems with page load times, this may be a result of recently upgrading from Internet Explorer 6 to Internet Explorer 8. If you have upgraded to the newer browser and are also using Microsoft XP as your Operating System, you should check that your Microsoft XP has had Service Pack 2 applied, as this is one of Microsoft's minimum requirements.
If you are using Microsoft Windows XP you can check whether Service Pack 2 (or the more recent Service Pack 3) has been applied to your PC:
1. On the taskbar at the bottom of your screen, select
Start, followed by
Run.
2. In the Run dialog box, type:
winver and press
OK.
3. Look for the number after
Service Pack in the dialog box.
