Should I leave my Sky Box on standby?
Your Sky box has been designed to be left on standby at all times so it can receive updated software from the satellite, providing you with Sky's latest services and functions. Sky+ and Sky+HD boxes now have an AutoStandby feature which automatically turns them off at night if you're not watching television.
