Keeping your Sky Email account secure

In order to keep your Sky Email account secure, we recommend you change your Sky iD password on a regular basis, especially if you use the same password across multiple email accounts. To help you select a safe and secure password, we have provided some helpful hints and tips below, as well as information on Sky Identity Patrol.

Changing your password

To change your password, simply enter your Sky iD username here and follow the on-screen instructions.

There are a few rules you must follow which ensure the security of your account. Your password must:

 · Be at least 7 characters long
 · Contain a mix of letters and numbers
 · Not start with a number – not contain your username
 · Not contain the word 'password'
 · Avoid using a word out of the dictionary on its own

Hints: You should avoid using your username, consecutive numbers or obvious personal information, such as your date of birth, family names or home address. We also recommend that you choose a password that differs from your other online accounts, such as shopping or banking websites.

Keeping your password safe

 · Never tell anyone your password
 · If you have problems remembering passwords - don't write it down; instead make sure your password recovery details are up to date (to do this, visit Manage your account)
 · Never send your password by email. Sky will never ask you for your password by email, so if you receive an email requesting your password, it is fraudulent
 · Change your password immediately, if you think someone else may have discovered it
 · Periodically change your password even if you believe it is secure
