Your Sky statement (billing explained)

Once your Sky installation is complete, we’ll write to you with all the information you need about your first bill and ones to come.

Our letter will confirm the current monthly rate for your chosen channel package, the period your first bill covers, the amount of your first bill and the date on which it will be taken from your bank or credit card account.

The date of your first bill will vary depending on when your Sky account was activated - for example, if your payment date is the 1st January, your payment will cover the period from 1st January to 31st January; if it is the 15th January then it will cover the period from 15th January to 14th February. Once you've paid the first bill, you can change the date on which you pay your Sky bill.

Our letter will also confirm subsequent payments for your channel package and the date they will be collected each month.

  1. I have re-subscribed. How will I be billed?
You'll be billed in advance as normal, but as you have re-subscribed, your first bill will cover from your re-activation date to your payment due date plus one month in advance. Any pay-per-view services will also feature on your bill. Unless you specify another date when you re-subscribe, your payment due date will be the same as it was when you were a Sky subscriber in the past, if we still have a record of this.
  2. My bill appears to be wrong - why is this?
Sometimes your bill may come to more or less than you expected. This could be because you've changed your viewing package or your payment due date or placed orders in addition to your usual subscription such as Sky Box Office events. If you're still puzzled about the amount showing on your bill, please get in touch with Sky Customer Services and we'll look into it for you. You can find our contact details here.
  3. What are partial-month charges and credits?
As Sky bills you for a full month of service in advance, any changes you make mid-month will show as charges or credits on your subsequent bill. If you added a service, you will be charged for the part of the month from the date you added the services to the date of your bill, plus a full month's subscription in advance. If you cancel a service we will credit your next bill for any period you have paid for and not used.
