Recycle Your Old Sky Products

Electrical things are great when you’re using them, but when they get to the end of their days they can damage the environment.

That’s why we’ve been working with the Waste Management (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Regulations 2005, which is a piece of Irish legislation to help do things right.

So, if you’ve got old or unwanted Sky equipment that’s taking up space in your living room, loft or garden shed, don’t worry, because we’re on hand to help you dispose of it quickly and easily, with as little harm to the environment as possible.

What's more, we also offer a free one-for-one and like-for-like take back on electrical goods when new equipment is purchased from us. This means that if you purchase a new product from Sky, we'll take back the old product that it's replacing. So, if you buy a new Sky+ box, for example, we'll take back your old TV receiver, even if it's not Sky equipment.

You probably already noticed that the price you pay for new electrical and electronic products includes a small contribution to the Producer Recycling Fund (PRF). This helps pay for the final disposal of these goods in a responsible way. You can have a look at the individual breakdown for each type of Sky box in the table below.

To help you out, all Sky equipment is marked with a crossed-out wheelie bin symbol. This means they’re items that should be disposed of separately from your normal household rubbish.

The good news is we've made it easy for you to return your old equipment for recycling – and it’s free. There are three ways to choose from and all you have to do is pick what suits you:

1. You can give old or unwanted equipment to your Sky engineer during your next installation or service call. You’ll be given 24 hours notice before the visit – and it will be handy if you disconnect the unwanted product, so it’s ready to collect. Your Sky engineer’s details are below:

Finlay Communctions (IRL) Ltd Sierra Communications Ltd
Unit 9B, Lough Sheever Corporate Park Knockmitten Lane North
Robinstown New Nangor Road
Mullingar Dublin 12
Co Westmeath

2. If you’re planning to buy a new Sky box through a high street retailer or a Sky Shop, then you can take back your old or unwanted box on a one-for-one and like-for-like basis to them. Please contact your retailer for more information.

3. You can take your old or unwanted equipment to your local WEEE Collection Point. You can find your nearest facility here. (Note: this option is not available to businesses).

With all these options, there's no need to be stuck with electrical equipment that you no longer use. So what are you waiting for? Recycle it today.
