How to make sky.com your default homepage
 

We've provided the steps to follow for some of the most popular internet browsers below. If in doubt, check your browser's support section for more details.

 

Firefox 20

  1. Open the website you want to set as your home page. If you want a blank home page, open a new tab
  2. Click the icon to the left of the web address, drag it to the Home button, and release
  3. Click Yes to set this as your home page
 

Chrome

  1. Click the Chrome menu on the browser toolbar
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Add the home button to the browser toolbar
  4. Homepage button is off by default. Select the "Show Home button" tick box in the "Appearance" section to show it on the browser toolbar
  5. Set your homepage

When the "Show Home button" tick box is selected, a web address appears below it. If you want the Homepage button to open up a different webpage, click Change to enter a link. You can also choose the New Tab page as your homepage.

 

Internet Explorer 10

  1. Make sure you've closed all open tabs, then open Internet Explorer for the desktop
  2. Tap or click Tools, and then tap or click Internet options
  3. Under the General tab, enter the web address of your new home page, and then tap or click Apply

You'll need to restart both Internet Explorer and Internet Explorer for the desktop to see your new home page. You can change your home page at any time, or set up multiple home pages that will open in separate tabs.

 

Internet Explorer 10 on Windows 7

  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Go to the webpage you want to set as your home page
  3. Tap or click the Tools button, and then tap or click Internet options
  4. Under the General tab, do one of the following:
  • To set the page you're on as your home page, tap or click Use current
  • To set a blank home page, tap or click Use blank
  • To reset the home page to its default, tap or click Use default
  1. Tap or click Apply, and then tap or click OK
  2. Close all open Internet Explorer windows, and then start a new browsing session to view your home page
 

Internet Explorer 8 and Internet Explorer 9

  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Go to the webpage you want to set as your home page
  3. Click the Tools button, and then click Internet options
  4. Under the General tab, do one of the following:
  • To set the page you're on as your home page, click Use current
  • To set a blank home page, click Use blank
  • To reset the home page to its default, click Use default
  1. Click OK.
 

Safari

  1. Open Safari if it is not already open.
  2. Choose Safari > Preferences, and then click General.
  3. Do one of the following:
  • To use the page in the current Safari window or tab, click “Set to Current Page.”
  • To use another page, type its address in the Homepage field
  • To use a blank page, delete the contents of the Homepage field so that the field is blank
  • You can also choose Empty Page from the “New windows open with” and “New tabs open with” pop-up menus
  1. To make the homepage appear whenever you open a new Safari window or tab, choose Homepage from the “New windows open with” and “New tabs open with” pop-up menus.
