Once the paperwork is taken care of, you're all set! The next step is installing Sky Broadband.
You will have:
- Chosen to do this by yourself with our self-install kit or
- Arranged for a Sky engineer to come and do it for you.
Installing Sky Broadband yourself
If you have chosen to set up Sky Broadband by yourself you'll receive a letter telling you when
your activation date will be. This will be followed by our Self-install Kit which
contains:
- Our Install CD which will install all the software you need
-
Your complete guide to setting up Sky Broadband easy-to-follow set-up guide
- A Sky wireless router - the equipment you need to connect your computer to the internet through
your phone line. If you already have broadband, this router will replace the router or modem you
are currently using
- The microfilters, cabling and other bits you need to get installed
We recommend that if you are installing Sky Broadband yourself, you use our
Get Set set-up CD. The step-by-step instructions are easy to follow and a desktop Help
Guide will also be installed on your computer just in case you need it. The CD also includes a free
trial McAfee Security Suite.
If you think anything is missing from your kit, or if you need extra microfilters, just call us
on 08442 410 515 and we'll organise replacements.
Using a Sky engineer to install Sky Broadband
If you have a Sky engineer coming to install your Broadband we will send you a letter confirming
your installation date. If for any reason you need to change this date, please call us on 08442 410
515 as soon as possible so we can make another appointment.
On your installation date, your engineer will bring all that's needed to set up Sky Broadband.
They'll set up everything for you including your free trial McAfee Security Suite if you want
it.
Your engineer does not activate your Broadband connection, so if Broadband is installed
before your activation date you'll have to wait until then for it to work. Remember, because our
engineers are specially trained to install Sky products, they cannot install any other products or
help with any computer problems.
