We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome Olympic gold medallist Jessica Ennis to Sky Sports Living
for Sport as our newest Ambassador.
Sky Sports Living for Sport is a free initiative we run in partnership with the Youth Sport
Trust. It uses sport stars and sport skills to help improve the lives of thousands young people and
is open to all UK secondary schools.
Sky Sports Living for Sport’s Athlete Mentors are key to its success. They’re all top-class
professional athletes who visit schools, sharing their inspirational life stories and motivating
the kids to make positive changes in their lives through sport.
This helps transform young people who might struggle with confidence, inclusion or motivation
into students who are more engaged with their lessons and school mates. It also helps them attain
better grades.
As a national sporting hero, Jessica’s role will be crucial to the initiative. Not only will her
iconic status inspire and motivate students, she’ll also champion the tireless work of the 50 other
Athlete Mentors.
And she can’t wait to get started. “Sport has the power to help build confidence, self-respect
and improve behaviour,” she said. “Sky Sports Living for Sport is using sport to do just that and
that’s why I am really excited to have teamed up with them to get more schools all over the UK to
join up.”
She’s joined gold medal-winning sprinter Darren Campbell and a distinguished list of elite
athletes that includes England and Team GB Football captain Casey Stoney, Team GB hockey bronze
medallist Alex Danson and Paralympics archery silver medallist Mel Clarke.
If you know a school that could benefit, why not help them
sign up now?
